About me

Mary Paterson

BSc (Hons), MSc, FDSc, MBACP (Accred), MIBWRT (Adv.)

I specialise in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a type of counselling that has been shown to help most psychological problems, and BWRT (BrainWorking Recursive Therapy).

We are all unique but we all have the capacity for change. I love helping clients to understand themselves, and how they can think and do things differently, in order to feel better and make the most of their lives.

As all counsellors should, I have regular supervision and carry out continuous professional development (CPD).

My previous counselling and psychotherapy experience was with Carers Trust (Heart of England) and Coventry & Warwickshire Mind.

I work solely with adults.

Qualifications

With a background in service delivery and senior management, latterly in charities and social enterprises, I retrained as a counsellor and psychotherapist to focus on a life-long interest.

My academic qualifications include an honours BSc, and an MSc in Organizational Behaviour (with merit), as well as the foundation degree in counselling and psychotherapy (CBT) (awarded with distinction).
