About me
Mary Paterson
I specialise in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a type of counselling that has been shown to help most psychological problems. I work solely with adults.
We are all unique but we all have the capacity for change. I love helping clients to understand themselves, and how they can think and do things differently, in order to feel better.
With a background in service delivery and senior management, latterly in charities and social enterprises, I retrained as a counsellor and psychotherapist to focus on a life-long interest.
My qualifications include an honours BSc, and an MSc in Organizational Behaviour (with merit), as well as the foundation degree in counselling and psychotherapy (CBT) (awarded with distinction).
I am also a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and use NLP to enhance the therapy.
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their Ethical Framework.
As all counsellors should, I have regular supervision and carry out continuous professional development (CPD).
I also counsel for Carers Trust (Heart of England) and
Coventry & Warwickshire Mind
