My approach
We all have the potential for good mental health, but our experiences shape the way we react to the world and can cause us distress.
The good news, is that we can learn new ways that serve us better.
I work in a collaborative client-focused way, starting with understanding what you hope to get from therapy. I can help you address your current situation, and if it can't be changed, help you to change the way you relate to it.
An integrated approach
I use principles and techniques from CBT to help you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and to discover new ways of being.
Using ACT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I can help you unhook from distressing thoughts and feelings, and choose to act in accordance with your values to achieve a more purposeful and meaningful life.
Incorporating NLP can help you access the resources you already have, to facilitate change and growth.
Rewind Therapy is a simple and effective exercise to take the trauma out of traumatic events. And it's not too good to be true!
CBT
CBT is a short-term therapy - you will not only feel better, but you will learn tools and techniques that you can apply in any situation, and face future challenges with confidence. At the same time, therapy can be in-depth, enabling an understanding of core beliefs and why they were formed, leading to longer-lasting change and ongoing increased self-awareness.
ACT
ACT helps with the acceptance and management of difficult thoughts and feelings, enabling values-driven action leading to a rich, meaningful and purposeful life.
NLP
NLP, or neuro-linguistic programming, was developed from the study of human excellence. It has been defined as the study of the structure of subjective experience. It has a whole raft of tools and techniques to improve what we do.
BWRT
BWRT (Brain-Working Recursive Therapy) is an alternative to CBT and works very differently...
